| During the course of 2008 Cameron Callahan decided he was going to start making comics. He could only draw like a five year old, though, and asked some friends that had artistic talent if they would be willing to help make comics. After a number of failed collaboration attempts Cameron said, “Oh what the hell,” and in January of 2009 he set out on his simple journey to write and a draw a very basic 3 page comic as a test to see if even that was within his reach (Cameron had hypothesized, at the time, that even this would be too difficult for him). Six months later he completed Scrambled Circuits #1, a 30-or-so page collection of autobiographical short comics that he had made copies of at an Office Depot and took home to fold, cut, and staple by hand. | ||
| Scrambled Circuits is written and drawn by me, Cameron Callahan, and my inner child. Each print issue of Scrambled Circuits contains a bunch of connected short stories about Primus and his coworkers, friends, family, and strangers that he meets. So far there are three collecions with plans for two more to be released in 2012 – Scrambled Circuits Annual #1 with stories written by me and illustrated by others and Scrambled Circuits #4 written and drawn by me. Clicking on the covers below will open them up for you to read online. The digital versions are entirely free and physical copies are available right here on Etsy. Eventually it will be possible to go through the short stories, right here for free online, in chronological order through Primus’ life (Which is different than how they appear in the collections). | ||

“This book is amazing. The story and ideas are so well thought out and well done it is impressive that this is one of the creator’s first works.” – Allen Wiggs, Editor of Make Something Magazine
“This is a wonderful contribution to the world of short-form comics. Scrambled Circuits honours the legacy of Pekar with humorously honest and frequently poignant recollections of daily life. It is possible that the author has an unhealthy caffeine dependency, but his fear of spiders and love of cats compensates for this.” – Steve Wright, Professional Australian “8==D” – Chris Graves, Creator of the webcomic Space Shark |
